Self S.W.O.T Analysis

At this point in the year before approaching creatives to interview, it is beneficial to recognise and self reflect my strengths and weaknesses in order to know what I need to learn or guide me who to approach.

Strengths: open minded, excitable, positive, motivational, compassionate, can compromise very well. appreciative of different design styles, adore capturing moments with my film camera

Weaknesses: not as active in the design community as I could be, can lack confidence in myself to go beyond submissions, enjoy having my own time, lately have been less organised, reliant on someone doing work at the same time as me to motivate me sometimes, not very tech savvy learning programmes like After Effects,

Opportunities: I am good at identifying and gathering opportunities and suggesting them to others! I feel our task to get in touch with artists will bring me out of my shell a bit and push me to grab more opportunities as something amazing could come out of it. For example, someone who said they would want them and their music students to work with me on me designing their artwork never got back to me unexpectedly, but this does not hinder me in reaching for opportunities I really want to go for.

Threats: Those who are perfectionists, very sharp and fast, and that can use and learn software quickly and at ease, people who's lives are entirely dedicated to their work, money, design robots

Listening to live podcast number 4 to get a flavour of how they are to talk to and their personalities/vibes as a group

-support fellow students businesses
-discuss events happening in leeds relevant to our age group
-are aware and discussing important issues from LGBTQ and mental health issues
-music lovers, go to gigs and love dancing like myself. shows similar characteristics
-take an interest in music videos art direction and stories
-notice and take an interest in quirky new fashion trends and styles
-are within the leeds student community
-ethically aware and dismiss old values such as homophobia

although I didn't contact them for this module, I wish to get in contact for potential work connections and placements next year. unfortunately couldn't make it to their last magazine launch as I was very ill but they are a priority to network with.
